I am Shalene Heaton, math teacher at VHS. I grew up in Winnemucca NV and still love visiting family there. I received my associates degree from Ricks College, then my bachelors degree in Mathematics Education from Utah State University. I moved to Las Vegas and started teaching in 2003. I have since earned my masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Phoenix. I taught at Palo Verde for six years and really enjoyed it there. I have been teaching at VHS for three years now and enjoy the unique challenges and flexibility of teaching online. I have two wonderful children and love reading, sports and spending time with my family.
