Stephen Bzinak
Instructional Design Facilitator

Hello VHS Students, Parents, and Staff! My name is Stephen (Steve) Bzinak, and I'm a Project Facilitator with Virtual High School this year. What does this mean? It means I take on many support roles from helping to create and post content to training teachers to troubleshooting problems and much more. I am very excited about this new endeavor, and look forward to using my 16+ years of experience in education to help merge education and technology.
I am originally from Niagara Falls, New York (go Sabres!), and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics with an Education minor at the State University of New York at Buffalo. I moved to Southern Nevada in 1995 to take a position teaching Mathematics at VoTech High School (now the Southeast Career Technical Academy). Being someone who likes new challenges, I have worked at VoTech HS, Foothill HS, Del Sol HS, and now currently at VHS. During those years my main role has been as a math teacher, but I have also taught computer classes and have acted as an Educational Computing Strategist (ECS). I even went back to school, earning a Master's Degree in Education with a technology emphasis from UNLV. I devote my spare time to my new wife Lissa (we just got married this summer) and my daughters Rachel and Andrea. My daughters are 9 and 7 years old (I won't say how old my wife is), so as you can imagine, they are a handful. I love all three ladies to death, and as crazy as it is having two elementary age daughters, I'm enjoying these days because I know they won't last long. Besides, it's the teenage years that really scare me! |
