Multicultural Themes in Literature

This one-year course presents multicultural themes and perspectives in literature. Social influences upon writers and their works are explored.  Emphasis is placed on developing deeper understanding and awareness of cultural diversity as reflected in literature and the arts. The course emphasizes writing as a means of self-expression, formal communication, and research presentation.  This course fulfills one of the four English credits required for graduation.
