Lynda Spann
Curriculum Administrator
Born, raised, and educated in New Zealand Mrs. Spann’s teaching career started out teaching shorthand, accounting, and typing. That was in the days of the manual typewriter, carbon paper, and onion skin paper. Traveling half way around the world, she met her husband in Las Vegas 33 years ago. Before joining CCSD, Mrs. Spann worked for one of the largest Las Vegas casino operations; one of the largest computer companies in the world, and then decided that traveling 2 or 3 days a week was taking too much time away from her family.
Mrs. Spann started her career with CCSD as a programming teacher at SECTA (formerly SNVTC). After 15 years at SNVTC she became a project facilitator for Career and Technical Education working with the computer, graphics, and IT teachers in the district. For the past three years Mrs. Spann has been an administrator at CTE and then moved over to Virtual High School this past summer to work with the instructional design team and developing online curriculum for the school.
Mrs. Spann has two children, her eldest son John has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering working in solar research. Her daughter Jennifer taught at Canyon Springs High School for two years, and is now working for an international staffing firm in California.
Mrs. Spann and her husband enjoy traveling. They have traveled through 43 states and 20 countries. You can guess what they will be doing in their retirement years.
She looks forward to working with the design team and making Virtual High School one of the top online schools in the nation.
