Jamie Woodard
Instructional Web Design Coordinator

Jamie Woodard is one of the rare Las Vegas valley natives, home grown and educated through the Clark County School District. She attended Advanced Technologies Academy for high school, graduating with honors and a double major in Computer Science and Computer Graphic Design. From there, Ms. Woodard went on to the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and after a year, transferred to the snowy Brigham Young University. Ms. Woodard returned to warmer climates after receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts and a minor in Visual Arts.
Joining Virtual HS in the fall of 2007, Ms. Woodard has worn many different hats from evaluating software, to training teachers, to implementing new systems at the school. She greatly enjoys the challenge of mastering new technologies and making them fit unique needs, typically breaking the mold they were originally intended for. Helping students discover how to express what they know through the use of technology and creativity, beyond the typical essay and worksheet, is the most fulfilling and inspiring task on her list. Ms. Woodard is extremely grateful to be part of a team that aspires to pave new, digital roads in the world of education.
Jamie has three major passions that drive her: art, technology, and education--her life has been juggling act between these three seemingly different roads. She has had many amazing opportunities thus far, from acting in a computer game, to working on a full length feature film, to performing regularly in musicals at Spring Mountain Ranch. Jamie loves tech gadgets and video games; singing and dancing; and, more than anything else, learning new things and sharing what she has learned. She continually looks forward to what the future may bring and how she can be a part of of it.
